It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry Nathaniel Browder, a beloved member of the Etowah, Tennessee community. Terry, born on June 26, 1966, in Athens, Tennessee, peacefully departed on May 6, 2026, in Columbia, Tennessee, at the age of 59. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, warmth, and unwavering dedication to his family. Terry's life was marked by hard work and remarkable achievements. A gifted athlete since his youth, he excelled on the basketball court, earning accolades throughout high school and securing a full scholarship to Tennessee Wesleyan College. While he transitioned from sports to a career to provide for his family, Terry's commitment and work ethic remained unwavering. He dedicated many years of service to Bowater until his retirement in 2015. To those closest to him, Terry was more than just a diligent worker; he was a rock of support and love. Whether he was bonding with his brothers, embracing his sons, or cherishing moments with his youngest daughter, Makenna, Terry's presence brought joy to all. He took immense pride in being a devoted father to Makenna and a guiding figure to his sons, Cody and Casey. His spirit lives on through the laughter of his eight cherished grandchildren, who illuminated his later years.

Terry is survived by his longtime partner, December Harris, his children Makenna Jo Browder, Cody (Stephany) Browder, and Casey (Jacey) Browder, his father Douglas Richard Browder, his siblings Richard Arnold, Trever (Alice) Browder, Richard Browder, and Jeffrey Browder, Rhonda Ware and his grandchildren Miles, Valeria, Maverick, Makenzie, Kyrie, Nezirene, Naliya, and Neziah Browder.

He was preceded in death by his mother Bobbie Jo Walker, step-father Clayborne Walker, brother Doug Browder, and grandparents Irene and Nathaniel Douglas, as well as his uncle Fred Douglas.

Terry will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, his diligent work ethic, and his ability to make everyone feel cherished and protected. His absence will be deeply felt by the Etowah community and the family that meant the world to him. Terry's life was a testament to the strength of his sons and the sparkle in his daughter's eyes, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will endure through the memories he created.
