Teresa Gail Smith

Teresa Gail Smith, 64 of Etowah, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville surrounded by her loving family. Teresa attended church at Spirit City Church North Etowah.

Teresa was a devoted fan of the Tennessee Vols, cheering them on through every season with unwavering pride. Her love for family shone brightest during gatherings, where she brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of togetherness that will be dearly missed. A woman of deep faith, she found joy and strength in attending church, and she valued education, taking pride in being involved at the Tri-County Center in Athens, for over 43 years. Teresa spent years competing in the Special Olympics and dedicated volunteer work at Tennessee Wesleyan University. Her kind spirit, strong values, and joyful heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents Edward H. and Nellie K. Smith.

Teresa is survived by her brothers, Edward Smith and Neal Smith of Etowah, TN. Coker (Cindy) Smith of Riceville, TN. Marquis (Ethel) Smith, andCalvin (Sara) Smith of Charleston, TN., and sister Dana Sharp, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

There will be a visitation of friends on Sunday, April 27, 2025 in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN. from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

A Celebration of life service will be held at the SpiritCity North Etowah Church Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Rev. Justin Worden delivering the eulogy.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday one hour before the service at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Services will conclude with interment at New Zion Cemetery in Etowah, TN.
