Harvey Allen “Flub The American Dream” White

Harvey Allen “Flub The American Dream” White was born in Athens, Tennessee, to the late Harvey White and Jessie Mae White. His early years were filled with treasured memories of spending time with family, playing cards, and fishing. He attended AOH Church of God, where the foundation of his faith began.Harvey graduated from McMinn County High School and, shortly thereafter, enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served his country with dedication and honor, eventually retiring from military service.Family was at the heart of Harvey’s life. Some of his greatest joys came from gathering with loved ones at his home, sharing laughter, telling stories, and enjoying a good game of Spades or Bid Whist. Those who knew Harvey knew that the card table was about much more than the game—it was a place for fellowship, friendly competition, and making memories. His love for family, cards, and good company will remain a cherished part of his legacy.Harvey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Sue White; his parents, Harvey White and Jessie Mae White; his brothers, Donald White, Dwight White, Lawrence L. White, and Raymond C. White; and his sisters, Charlotte J. White and Anna L. Sullivan.He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Dedrick White of Athens, Tennessee, and Harvey Adam White of Knoxville, Tennessee; his daughter, Jessica White of Knoxville, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; his sisters, Carla White- Davis and Amy McCowan; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, friends, and cherished card-playing partners.

Harvey’s life was one of family, faith, service, fellowship, and unforgettable moments shared with those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories, laughter, lessons, and love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN with Rev. Vant Hardway delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Hammonds Cemetery in Athens, Tn with military honor guard.
