Elbert Lane

Elbert Lane age 84 of Athens, TN., died Monday October 23, 2017 in a Knoxville hospital. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and work for over twenty-nine years for TVA as a labor supervisor. He was the first African-American police officer in McMinn county.
He is preceded in death by his parent Carl and Alberta Lane .

Survivors include his wife Sandra J. Livingston of Athens, TN. Step-sons, William( Angel) Reno and Jerry Livingston all of Etowah, TN. Special friends, Rufus Smith, and William Prigmore.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Terrell L Mims officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the church.
Interment will follow at Lanetown Cemetery in Niota, TN.
