Douglas Taylor

Douglas Theodore Taylor, of Cleveland Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the age of 67. Doug was born in South Hampton, New York on Long Island to Hoyt and Helga Taylor. He spent his childhood and formative years as a military dependent growing up on U.S. Air Force bases in France, Germany and the U.S. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1978 and served for 6 years in Germany and California until he retired from military service and eventually joined his father and brother in Cleveland, Tennessee. Doug was a devout Christian, loved animals, and was always willing to share with others in need. He was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan, but his first love was soccer and especially the Bundesliga where he was an avid Bayern Munchen fan.

He is preceded in death by his father Hoyt H. Taylor and brother Ronald Taylor, both of Cleveland, TN.

He is survived by his mother Helga Taylor- Moran ( Larry) of Bowie, Maryland and two brothers, Michael Taylor of Hanover Pennsylvania and Stephan Taylor of Cleveland, Tennessee.

Services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home- Cleveland, TN. Visitation by friends will be one hour before the service from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
