Chaztus Denonzo “Bill” Whaley, age 50, passed away on May 7, 2026 in Chattanooga, TN. He was born on July 2, 1975 in Cleveland, TN.
Bill was a man who never met a stranger and could light up any room with his charisma, humor, and unforgettable jokes. He created countless memories with family and friends and was deeply loved by all who knew him. Known for his unique sense of style and impressive sneaker collection, Bill carried himself with confidence and individuality that people admired.
Above all, Bill was devoted to his family, especially his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. His warmth, spirit, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those blessed to know him.
Bill attended Rule High School in Knoxville, TN., where he proudly participated on the football team. Throughout his life, he maintained strong family bonds and cherished times spent with loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Janet Lee Whaley, his son Chaztus Whaley Jr., his sister LaShondra Whaley, and his daughter Chazzity Whaley.
He leaves to cherish his father, Ernest Theodore Westfield of Chattanooga, TN, his wife Shawnita Gillette Whaley, and their children Shawnique Whaley, and Chaztin Whaley-Gillette all of Knoxville, TN., his children, Jamichael Williams of Knoxville, TN., Maseo Exum of Cleveland, TN, and Theodore Westfield also of Knoxville, TN. His siblings, Shaquana ‘Bon’ Luster of Chattanooga, TN, Cindy Hughes-Tory of Cleveland, TN., and Mary Westfield of Chattanooga, TN., Jeffrey Scott of Knoxville, TN. and Theon Jarrett of Philadelphia, PA., along with a host of grandchildren and special, nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family members.
Though Bill’s earthly journey has ended, his laughter, love and unforgettable spirit will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Wildwood Avenue Church of God of Prophecy 140 Wildwood Ave SE Cleveland, TN with minister Terry Ware delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the service at Fort Hill Cemetery in Cleveland, TN.
