Rev. Charlie Mack Jr. age 82 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 14, 2024at his home surrounded by his family.

Rev. Mack  was well known for his service as a minister of the gospel, especially in the A.M.E. Zion Church, where he served as pastor at Harwell Chapel A.M.E. Church in Etowah, TN. He worked until his retirement from McMinn County Schools as a bus driver, and spent many years driving  an 18 wheeler for companies like Catnapper.

He was the son of the late Charlie Mack Sr. and Callie Moss Mack. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Sarah Joyce Mack and son Charlie Mack III, sister, Ruby Hines, and brother Joe Mack.

Survivors include his wife Alina Mack of Athens, TN. Two sons, Morrow (Kelley) Mack, and Danny( Linda) Mack all of Athens, TN. Step-children, Christina Upton, Brock Arnwine, and Ly-Bron Upton. Grandchildren, Ashley Mack, Kaleb Mack, Tristan Mack, Jarah Mack, Jada Mack, Britney Caldwell, and Melody Upton. Sisters, Bobbie Dunn, and Diane Lewis. Sisters-in-law, Ricca Mack,

Gwen (Charlie) Dubose, Jackie Upton, and Susan Upton. Special nieces, Gaynel Simpson, and Gayle Johnson. Special nephews, Todd Glover, Eugene(Sylvia) Dunn, and Stevie(Sandra) Dunn. Special friends, Rev. R.T. Smith, Stanley Blair, and Felix Latham. Elise Goldston, Jan McCowan.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024  at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN  with Rev. R.T. Smith  officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
