Charles Edward Moore

Charles Edward ‘Tony’ Moore, age 65 of Athens, Tn passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025,surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 29, 1959 and attended McMinn County High School.

Charles was later employed by Mayfield Dairy as a machine operator where he later retired after 28 years. Tony was a lover of music. He enjoyed playing the drums, singing, fishing, sports and good food.

He faced every challenge with unwavering faith and strength. He remained a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding us of the power of perseverance and enduring strength found in Christ. Tony leaves behind a meaningful legacy of memories for his loved ones to cherish.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lillie Jane and Charles Moore Jr.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Nancy J. Moore, loving daughter, Shauna Camille Moore, son Gabriel(Courtney) Moore, granddaughter Alyssa Moore, grandson Sir Isaac Davis, sisters, Patsy (Jeff) Hammonds and Rena(Randall) Johnson and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and special friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 18, 2025, at M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home- Athens, TN from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Redemption To The Nation Church 2329Clearwater Rd. Athens, TN with pastor Rev. Torrance Farmer officiating and Rev. Kenneth Scaife delivering the eulogy. The family will also receive friends one hour before the service at the church on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Hammonds Cemetery.
