Charles Louis Billingsley, 69, passed away on October 3, 2025, at Fort Sanders in Knoxville, TN. He was born on January 24, 1956. He was better known as Lukey. He served in the US Army and went through basic training at Fort Jackson, SC. He was self-employed with many talents: Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber, Roofer, and Auto Mechanic. He was previously employed by The Lost Sea, ETTP (East Tennessee Technology Park / K-25 Gaseous Diffusion Plant), Blaine (and Haynes) Construction, and Premiere Property Reality.
He was a life long member of Light of Life Faith Ministries International located in Athens, TN, serving under Dr. Harold McCowan. He was a genuine person with a kind heart helping others and loved being around his friends and family. He was preceded by grandparents, Noll and Flossie Billingsley, in-laws: James and Ada Bailey.
Left to cherish his life in memories is his wife of 15 years Melissa Bailey Billingsley and their fur baby Hezekiah Obeidah; Mother: Shirley Blair (Billingsley); Daughter: Denise Shawnette Weakland; Grandchildren: Shawnetta Mayson, Brittany Carr, and Jeremy Thomas including 10 Great Grandchildren; Sister: Patricia Gail McGaughey; Brother: Bruce (Esther) McCowan; Brothers In-Law: Ernest Thomas Bailey, Henry Steven (Dianah) Bailey; Sisters In-laws: Deborah (James) Edmondson, Anita Stone, Elizabeth Stone, Cora Bailey; Nieces: Sylvia McGaughey, Keyona (Dannis) Ferguson, Jasmine Hurst, Angie Bailey; Nephews: Craig Bailey, Channing Bailey, and Patrick Scott; Great Nieces and Nephews: Giavonni Ray, Armani Benton, Teegan Blackwell, Peyson McClanahan, Tristan Bailey, Michael Bailey, Devonte Scott, and K’Tia Bailey; Great Grand Nephew: Jordan Ray; Aunt: Cleo (John) Davis. And a host of cousins and many wonderful friends.
Funeral service will held Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Light of Life Faith Ministries International Church on Congress Parkway, Athens, TN with Pastor Dr. Harold McCowan delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Sweetwater Memory Gardens.
