Booker T. Woods, 87, of Georgetown, Tennessee, passed away on March 1, 2026.

Born on October 1, 1938, to William and Mattie B. Woods, Booker T. was raised in Georgetown, where he built lifelong friendships and deep community ties. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School Chattanooga, TN in 1958.

Booker T. built a career in the logging industry, working as an entrepreneur for over 50 years. Through hard work, determination, and integrity, he established a reputation for his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family and friends. Outside of work, Booker T. found joy in his church, spending time with family, and followingsports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mattie Woods; his sisters, Frances Spence, Beatrice Woods, Hortense Williams, Alice Crawford, Mildred Bradford, Loyce Whaley, and Alma Rose Woods; and brothers, Harold Woods, Leonard Woods, Quentin Woods, William Woods, Leander Woods, triplet brothers, Ray, Roy, and Roland Woods.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Woods; his daughter, Lisa Woods and his stepson, Walter Miller; his grandchildren, Latasia (Donnell) Priest and his step-grandchildren, India Miller and Eric Miller; his brothers, Chancel Woods and Howard (Estella) Woods; brother in law Scott (Sonya) Swafford, sister in law Claire Swafford special nephews Barry Bradford and Thomas Swafford and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Elmo United Methodist Church in Georgetown, TN with pastor Rev. Floyd Davis officiating and delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Elmo Church Cemetery, Georgetown, TN.

Booker T. Woods will be remembered for his generosity, his willingness to help others, and the love he shared so freely. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.
