Beverly Jo Collier, age 66, born September 1, 1959, to the late H.C. McCowan and Ethel Lenoir in Sweetwater, Tennessee, she departed this life on October 1, 2025.

Beverly accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church for many years before later joining First United Church of Christ. She attended Sweetwater High School and was employed by several Sweetwater establishments throughout her life. Though health challenges ended her working years, she continued to bless others with her kindness and faith.

Beverly remained steadfast and faithful despite her medical struggles, always keeping her trust in God and encouraging others through her quiet strength and loving spirit. She was a bonus mother and “Aunt Mommy” to many, nurturing guiding, and loving those around her as if they were her own.

She was preceded in death by her father, H.C. McCowan; brothers, Tommy Johnson and Timothy Lenoir; and sister, Kathy Lenoir.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 42 years, Terry L. Collier, Sr.; daughter, Heather Lenoir Ervin (Harry) of Maryville; sons Terry L. Collier, Jr. and Terrell Collier, both of Sweetwater; stepdaughters Deijha Collier and Latoya Collier of Miami, Florida; and loving mother Ethel Mae Lenoir McCowan, brother and sister-in-law Stephen and Sherry Lenoir of Etowah; sister Revetta (Darryl) Bradley of Athens; brother Harold McCowan of Sweetwater; Barry (Julie) McCowan of Farmington Hills, Michigan; and Gary & Lenoir McCowan of Athens, Tennessee.

Her legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren — Jasmine Ervin and Jada Ervin of Maryville; Karlynn, Elijah, Ruby, Callie, and Constance Collier of Sweetwater — and through a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who loved her deeply.
