Anthony O Dale Ware age 70 transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 while at a health care facility in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was born March 15, 1955 to Janie Elizabeth Ware and Charles A. Swafford Sr.
Anthony graduated in 1973 from Tech High School in Indianapolis, Ind. He started working April 1978 at Bowater Southern Paper in the wood yard until 1993. He was also employed with D&D Construction.
He was commonly known as ‘Bally’ by his family and friends. He enjoyed being around his family. He enjoyed playing Chess, where he taught his son Dyshaun to play and his grandson Boston who is now an advent player. Bally enjoyed having a big firework show on the 4th of July for the kids in the area where he lived.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Karen Ware, Mattie Ann Swafford, Odessa Rouser, brother Labron Swafford, grandparents, Will and Ida Ware, father Charles Arthur ‘CA’ Swafford Sr. and special aunt and uncle Wadie and Clyde Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memories, sons, Rickey McKay ( Karina) Westfield, and Anthony Dyshaun(Brittney) Ware all of Cleveland, TN., grandsons, Antonio Westfield, Rickey McKay Westfield Jr., Ryder McKay Westfield, and Anthony Boston Ware all of Cleveland, TN., granddaughters, Keyari Cheyenne Westfield, McKayla Skaii Westfield of California. Mother, Janie E. Ware of Indianapolis Ind, sisters, Jan Ware, Joyce Ware of Indianapolis, Ind., Emma Cansler, Erma Swafford, Martha ( Don) Tibbs, Edith(Charles) Blair, Linda Bowerman all of Cleveland, TN. Brothers, Kenneth Ware and Jeffery Ware of Indianapolis, Ind., Charles Arthur Swafford Jr., Lomas ( Edna) Swafford all of Cleveland, TN., Lynn ( Helen) Swafford of Montana, Macarthur Sharp of Cleveland, TN and Ben Swafford of Detroit, Mich. Special nephew, DeElizer Sharp and long time friend Octavia Blair. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends that have wonderful memories of him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Martha Tibbs delivering the eulogy. Family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m.
