Annissa Chervonne Brabson age 50 passed Friday, February 13, 2026 at her home in Athens, TN.
She was a graduate of McMinn County High School and worked as a receptionist for a local hotel and in the fast food services industry. Annissa had an associate degree from Virginia College. She was a diligently worker in her church, the Athens Church of God Sanctified, where she was known for her singing , a leader of the children’s church and working as the church secretary.
She is preceded in death by her parents James Brabson and Margaret Ann Billups Nash, great uncle James Sherman, uncle Johnny Billups, sister, Renee’ Baron, and niece Tamara
Survivors include two sons, Steven Shymez Brabson (special friend Jameika Moore), and Shyheim Benton. Two grandchildren, Esmae Brabson, and Orilynn Bulter. Two brothers, Christopher(Sonya) Brabson of Cleveland, TN., and William (Laura ‘Jackie’) Billups of Athens, TN. Three special friends, Minister Mae Hammonds, Paul Bradley, and Martina Henry. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN with pastor Minister Mae Hammonds delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m.
