Alana Jade King age 21 died suddenly Sunday October 2, 2016 in Athens, Tn. She was a nursing student at Cleveland State Community College, and an assistant manager at Subways in Athens, Tn. She was a member of the AGAPE Center A.O.H. Church of God in Athens, and a graduate of McMinn County High School class of 2013. A loving mother to her son, Zyden King Smith. Survivors in her son, Zayden ‘King’ Smith, parents, Edgar and Vania King of Athens, one sister, Kelaiah(Austin) King, of Athens, grandparents, Franklin and Kathrine Swafford of Athens, Karen King of Johnson City, Tn., Ed & Marie King of Athens, Tn. Two aunts, Carla(JT) Monroe of Athens, and Bianca King of Johnson City, Tn. Three cousins, Nicholas Monroe, Ridge Monroe, both of Athens, Tn., and Michael Robinson of Johnson City, Tn. Great-grandfather, Sherman McCleary of Charleston, Tn., many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home& Cremation Service- Athens, Tn. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodward Church of God in Athens, Tn., with Rev. Vant Hardaway officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Clear Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
