Elizia Mae Barnett, age 69 passed away on Friday morning of June 19, 2015. She was previously employed with Life Bridges of Cleveland. She was also an alumnus of College Hill High School, Class of 1963. She was vital and important member of the Mount Eagle Baptist Church family where she served as president of the Usher Board, Sunday School teacher, and Mother of the church and Mother Board.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Henrietta Hammonds, brother Horace Hammond, sister Martha Gillespie, and Godmother Luevancy Kimpson.
She is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Louishes Barnett, son Louishes Antonio Barnett (Lessie) of Cleveland, TN, brother Kenneth Hammonds (Francis) of Georgetown, Raymond Larry of Athens, TN, sisters Joann Cooley of Calhoun, TN, Alice Gibbs of Charleston, TN, sister-in-law and special friend Gloria Hammonds of Charleston, TN, and special friend Pam Nixon of Charleston, WVA, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday June 24, 2015 at Mount Eagle Baptist Church in Charleston, TN with the Reverend Paul McCleary officiating and the Reverend James Parris Eulogist. The family visitation time will begin at 1:30 pm with the funeral to begin immediately thereafter at 2:00 pm. The interment will conclude at the Charleston Community Cemetery.
