Robert Cox

Robert Cox Jr. age 77 of Athens, died Saturday September 6, 2014 at a local health care facility. He was of the A.M.E. Zion faith and attended Cox Chapel in Athens, Tn. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving his country for twenty-three years in the U.S. Army. He was a well-known carpenter in the McMinn county area.

He was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Cox.

Survivors include two daughters, Delvinia Cox of Springfield, Mo., and Cynthia Lynn Cox of Walnut Creek, Co. One son, Cedric Robert Cox (Marla) of Galveston, Tx. Four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Irene Cox and Rachel Robinson both of Athens, Tn., and Helen Collier of Englewood, Tn. Two brothers, Cottrell Brown of Sun City, Arizona, and Dan Cox of Etowah, Tn. One aunt, Oggie Mae McDermott of Athens, Tn., and special friend Michelle Cox, many other relatives and friends.
